“You have probably dealt with your state government sometime before.” Weather that is paying taxes or speaking to a police officer (“State & Local Government” 1). There are many different times and places you have dealt with your state government.
Just like in the federal government,a state government also has three branches: legislative,judicial,executive(“ State & Local Government” 1). Did you know? That a state government has it's own constitution separated from the US constitution. For a bill to become a law,it first needs to be created by a legislator. Then the bill moves to a session for it to be voted on by the house of representatives depending on the bill it will move on for another vote by the senate (“State & Local Government” 1).The bill then moves on to the governor's office to be signed and approved or vetoed.
“SOE” Stands for “state of emergency” This can be declared only by the governor of that state. (Krystal Knapp” 1). During “SOE” a variety of services may be called in to assist. (“krystal Knapp” 1) these services perform many different tasks to assist during “SOE” for example the national guard may be called in to help keep the peace the civil air patrol might be called in to look for missing people and the Department of Health might be called in to help out people in medical emergencies.
