Starters Myth: The Five Pararagraph

I have struggled with many of these myths from “What Is Academic Writing” for starters myth #6 “The Five Pararagraph”. I was always told when it comes to essays always do 5 paragraph sometimes I wanted to express more than just 5 paragraphs, and felt the pressure to try to fit everything in 5 paragraphs. “With an introduction, three supporting paragraphs, and a conclusion, the five paragraph essay is a format you should know, but one which you will outgrow”(page 5, paragraph 3) and ,that’s exactly how I feel you outgrow the 5 paragraphs and sometimes you wants to express more than that. Another struggle I have with one of these myths is Myth #2: “Writers only start writing when they have everything figured out” I always thought I could start writing an essay once I have it all figured it out but, it’s the other way sometimes you have written as you think “Writers figure out much of what they want to write as they write it” (page 4, paragraph 4)

Reading this article instead it made me realize that an argument essay means a carefully arranged and supported presentation of a viewpoint. More like having support what you’re trying to prove so the reader can understand what you’re trying to argue. A few other things that surprise me on the article “What Is Academic Writing” was mainly the myths some I dint even knew were myths which was very interesting.
