Intrapreneurship is acting like an entrepreneur within a larger organization. Intrapreneurs are usually highly self-motivated, proactive and action-oriented people who are comfortable with taking the initiative, even within the boundaries of an organization, in pursuit of an innovative product or service (www.investopedia.com). Starbucks is well-known company for their variety of their special drink such as various selection tea, coffee, espresso beverages, smoothies and etc. However, there is always more growth and improvement and adding few more drinks in Starbucks menu can to be United States market as international.
The first Starbucks was opened in 1971 at Pike Place Market in Seattle. In the beginning, Starbucks only sold coffee beans and brewing equipment. Howard Schultz the chairman and chief executive officer of Starbucks traveled to Italy in 1983 and brought the idea of a traditional coffeehouse from there to the United States. Starbucks has a great reputation around the world. Therefore, it will be a great opportunity for Starbucks to listen to its employee’s idea and especially its Baristas. The Baristas is a person who prepares and serves espresso-based coffee drink and knows the ingredients of drinks very well. Starbucks Baristas are creative in their downtime they play around with ingredients and invent new drinks that can help the company to reach horizontals. There are two drinks “Dirty Chai” and “Banana and Fresh blue barriers smoothies” are Barista’s invention and if Starbucks include these drinks to their menu.
