I will be carefully studying a fifteen second teaser for the third trailer developed for the movie Star Wars: The Force Awakens. This film is set “a long time ago in a galaxy far, far away”. It has been thirty years in the Star Wars Universe since the conclusion of Star Wars Episode VI: Return of the Jedi and the galaxy has changed much in this thirty year time skip. The evil Galactic Empire has collapsed and its remnants have reformed to establish a successor organization called The First Order. At the same time, the benevolent Rebel Alliance had reformed into an organization known as The Resistance. Over the course of thirty years has there been conflict between these two factions for control of the galaxy. The title of the movie hints that there has been a lengthy disturbance in the Force that is about to conclude and could tip the balance of said conflict. …show more content…

This film is the first of three films in a Star Wars Sequel Trilogy. This Trilogy franchise is to be a successor the Star Wars Original Trilogy and Star Wars Prequel Trilogy. The protagonist, Finn, is played by John Boyega who is famous amongst English audiences for his role in the cult favorite Attack the Block. Boyega’s co-star is newcomer Daisy Ridley, who will play the character Rey. The genres of this film can fall under the categories of an epic (A style of film-making with large scale that transports the viewer to other settings) and a space opera (A subgenre of science fiction that emphasizes space warfare, melodramatic adventure, and is set mainly or entirely in outer space).
