Star Wars: The Phantom Menace
In 1998, Lucas Film released a teaser poster for their long waited and highly anticipated new movie, Star Wars Episode 1: The Phantom Menace. This was a relief to many fans and stirred much excitement with the community because Star Wars has been without a release since 1983 and many fans are looking forward to seeing the new George Lucas film. This teaser poster grabs the attention of long time Star Wars fans as it does new fans wanting to know what happens to the young boy with the large dark shadow that is casted on the wall behind him. The iconic Star Wars poster relies heavily on pathos to express the feelings of the young boy being alone and his fate decided for him.

Star Wars Episode 1: The Phantom Menace poster has a minimalistic with its design with only showing young Anakin Skywalker, who is the main protagonist of the Star Wars saga, in front of a sand hut on the planet of Tatooine. There is a large shadow that is being casted on the wall behind him. Many longtime fans to the series know this figure as Darth Vader, which is what young Anakin becomes in Episode 3. The planet of Tatooine, that young Anakin, is from is a barren desert that is controlled by the crime lord Jabba the Hutt. On Tatooine, young Anakin is a slave boy to a greedy, mean tempered, toydarian (winged species from the planet of Toydaria), that places young Anakin’s freedom on a bet with Master Qui-Gon Jinn.
