Throught the first and second movies Anakin is the Apprentice of Obi Wan Kenobi. The two meet when Anakin is little and Anakin grows up learning from the best Jedi knight and most noble in all the galaxy. Anakin's concept of what being a successful Jedi Knight clearly differs from what Obi Wan’s concept of being a great Jedi knight is. This concept difference is clear, but becomes even more and more pronounced as time goes on, Obi Wan’s idea of being a good Jedi is to promote justice throughout the galaxy, and Anakin’s is to become powerful. This concept split ultimately leads Anakin's Concepts about being a jedi to align more with the dark side of the force, and in the third movie he splits from Obi Wan Kenobi and the two fight almost to the death.
