Star Wars A New Hope Movie Analysis

The Revolutionary War is actually very similar to the movie we all know, “Star Wars: A New Hope” by George Lucas. They are plenty of similarities such as Luke SkyWalker and America willing to fight for rights, George Washington and Obiwan Kanobi, The Emperor and King George, Darth Vader and the British Army. The first similarity is in comparing Luke SkyWalker and America fighting for rights as compared to The Emperor and King George. These characters and armies are alike because Luke and The Emperor are fighting for peace in the universe and to gain territories around the galaxies and universe. This is very similar to actual events of King George and the British Army fighting against America for the very same reason. Both the fictional and actual characters are trying to get different territories than what they had before and fight for peace within the armies or sides such as the Light Side vs. The Dark Side. A small difference between the two incidents is that the Light

In Star Wars, Obiwan Kanobi was also a leader, but for Jedi’s and helped train them because he was an advanced Jedi. He was also a noble man and very gifted with the art of the force. Washington and Obiwan Kanobi are similar to each other because they both trained their own men for battle. Obiwan trained his men, for example Luke SkyWalker, to be a Jedi and battle agianst the Empire. George Washington trained some of his men to be soldiers to go to war against Great Britain and defeat them. One difference between these two men could be that George Washington played a bigger part in the War than Obiwan Kanobi did in fighting The Dark

“The Force Awakens”, the seventh installment in the Star Wars franchise and the first part of the new trilogy announced by the Walt Disney distributing company, was intended to be a galactic epic. Within this specific genre, it manages to deliver a pretty decent plot filled with exciting battles, interesting new and old characters, and some nostalgia without falling in exaggeration. The film was directed, co-written, and co-produced by J.J. Abrams, who reinforces his ability to recycle former epics (“Mission: Impossible”, “Star Trek”) and successfully adds a few fresh, well-shaped characters into the super settings, to accompany the old ones who are still present. From now on, the main protagonist is Rey (Daisy Ridley), an obstinate and totally independent scavenger on the desert planet…

The Imperial officers resemble those of the Nazis from Germany. Star Wars creator George Lucas even refers to Imperial officers as “Nazis”. Another similarity would be the Sand People, who are xenophobic natives that attack foreigners and raid moisture farms set up by locals. The night raids, killings, and kidnappings are similar to the actions of the Taliban (Ciscell). Other battles also inspired Lucas, like the fight of the Soviets attempting to stop the Nazi movement.…

The two shared many of the same ideals and values and wanted it to stay that way. As George Washington said in his letter to Robert Orme, the assistant to General Edward Braddock, “But, besides this and the laudable desire I may have to serve (with my best abilities) my King and Country, I must be ingenuous enough to confess , that I am not a little biased by selfish considerations.” (Document C). Washington wrote this letter expressing his strong desires to serve in the British military and honor the King and his country. Robert Middlekauff, the author of Why Men Fought in the American Revolution, wrote about the differences and similarities between the American side and British side, as well as the story line. The author discusses the soldiers’ motivations to fight, the differences between the British and American soldiers, the differences between the British and American officers, and the strongest reason the men stayed to fight. Staying to fight for one’s land or for freedom maybe be enough to have men stay and fight, but Middlekauff believed in other reasons. On page 136, Robert mentions that the fear of ridicule may have caused troops to stay in place. He mentioned that men who ran away during battle would be fired upon, thus causing troops to be in fear…
