For those wondering whether the Bourne film series had seen its best days come and go, it would appear it’s alive and well – to the tune of $60 million. Matt Damon returned to the popular franchise, reprising his role as Jason Bourne, establishing one of the highest openings of the franchise, coming in only behind 2007’s The Bourne Ultimatum ($69.2 million).
Jason Bourne has also done relatively well abroad, thus far, earning a quick $50.1 million – bringing the film’s worldwide total to $110 million.
