Star Athlete Analysis

As enthusiastic sports fans we sometimes get carried away when rooting for players or teams for that matter. When it comes to some star athletes it is clear that some fans simply want to see them fail. It has become more common these days than ever before and it occurs in every sport.

The first athlete that comes to mind (for me), is Cleveland Cavaliers star LeBron James. When he left his hometown Cavaliers back in the off-season of 2010, James instantly became the most hated man in sports. The "decision," to leave his hometown for South Beach wasn't exactly the "fan favorite," decision, but in reality it gave him back-to-back championships in 2013 and 2014.

He is arrogant -- I won't disagree there, but just like James he has plenty of reason to be. They're going to go down as one of the best to ever play the game. He has five championships and still receives so much criticism. "He won three with arguably the best big man of all-time Shaquille O'Neal." Well, he also won two without him and with very little talent as well.

It occurs in every sport. Probably more so in the National Football League. We see it with Denver Broncos quarterback Peyton Manning and of course the New England Patriots quarterback Tom Brady. Manning receives so much scrutiny because he has only won one Super Bowl. I'd be a fool not to admit he does have some playoff "gitters," but he will still go down as one of if not the best quarterback of all-time. He might retire leading in all quarterback categories.

We all know the Patriots have been caught cheating on numerous occasions now. Especially in the "Brady era," But in terms of what I see on the field, Brady is easily the best i've ever seen in crucial moments. He is the definition of clutch. It absolutely agitates me when people proclaim most of New England's success is due in large part to head coach Bill Belichick. That is almost like saying Michael Jordan's success should be credited to Phil Jackson -- sounds ridiculous right? Regardless what anyone has say, Brady has four Super Bowls. Point, blank,

With his ability to throw the ball downfield, accurate on his throws, calm in the pocket, and the ability to run with the ball when pressure comes or no wide receivers are open, no wonder why San Francisco paid him so much. With Tom Brady planning to play for a few more years, after looking at how much he is getting paid, the Patriots did the right thing by trading him for a second round pick rather than let him walk in free agency and get nothing back for him.…
