Stanley Yelnats lived in an undersized apartment and has very bad luck and is constantly in the wrong place at the wrong time. throughout the book he is accused of stuff because of his bad luck.

Stanley Yelnats lived inside of an undersized apartment near texas. He was walking home from school and someone threw a pair of shoes at him he was convicted of stealing the shoes and he went to court and was sentenced to detention camp, at camp green lake. At camp green lake stanley was forced to dig holes they said it was to build character but stanley believes that they are searching for something it is also very hot and humid and it has been very long since it has rained at camp green lake it is described as a giant frying pan.

Stanley has made a few friends at camp it is mostly the people who are in his tent. They all have nicknames for each other, stanley’s nickname is caveman. One of his friends was not considered very smart by the other campers and counselors his name is zero. One of the counselors was making fun of him so he ran off a few days later stanley ran off after him he ended up finding him under a flipped over boat dying of thirst so they climbed a mountain in search of refuge they ended up finding water and onions up on the mountain.

the warden found them there and held them there using her gun. then a car with stanley's mom and a private investigator in it drove up.
The treasure went to stanley's family and they bought a bigger house and hector zeroni also known as zero recovered from his lack of water. With some of the money they hired a private investigator to find zero’s family and they lived with the Yelnatses in there knew house.
