Kubricks distinguished movie making was made out of experimentation. Everything is centered around re-invention. It's hard to talk about Kubricks work without overly analysing it, but that should be done because he is one of the most celebrated directors of our time. His film making techniques are striking, but the most important things within his films are exploring the biggest characteristics of life. High concept subject matter and film techniques redifined the cinematic experience. Few other film directors matched Kubricks attention to detail, kubricks work conveys a message and purpose, this creates style that everything has a meaning on the stage, from costume design to a character movement. Kubricks films always felt very distant, you can sense a barrier between the movie universe and the viewer. Kubrick used many methods to try to disengage the viewer from indentifying with the world. He was creating a unique perspective, this wasn't our world, it is exclusive to the movie. "In movies you don't try to photograph reality, you try to photograph a photograph of reality" - Stanley Kubrick. Kubricks direction was very extreme, the camera itself seemed to be amplified, wide angle shots become extreme wide angle shots, low angle shots become extreme low angle shots. The reason for this, is that in Kubricks universe the humanity is the extreme version of the real humanity, is it a metaphoric reality. There are certain rules that film makers follow to immerse the audience into the movie, which Kubrick always seemed to
