The census record for that year showing that Stanley having left school was working at home employed as a gardener and his father was working for himself as a Nurseryman and Gardener and that his sister had become a music teacher who was also working from home.
At some time between 1911 and 1915 the family moved again to 33, Treefield Rd., St. Werburgh's, Bristol. Native of Oldland, Bristol. It was from here that Stanley made the daring decision to volunteer to serve his country enlisting with the R.F.C as an Airman 2nd Class. Sadly, little more is known about Stanley. His military records were among those lost to fire during the Blitz on London in September 1940, when a German bombing raid struck the War Office repository in Arnside Street.
