I’m privileged to write this letter of recommendation for my dear friend and former professor, James Newman. I was fortunate enough to have Mr. Newman as a world geography teacher during my freshmen year of high school. The first time I met him I had no idea that we would develop a long-lasting friendship, something that went further than the casual student-professor interactions. As a recent immigrant from Mexico, my first year in high school represented a big challenge as I struggled to adapt to the new culture and society.
