The first instance in my life, was when I was a sophomore at Central Noble Junior/Senior High. I sat next to this girl in health class. Her name is Maddy, and Maddy had autism. Sometimes, when she got upset or stressed out, she would spin around in circles or she would start talking and it got louder the longer she talked. Although, she always had a smile on her face. My little brother, Chris, walks differently than other kids. He has a disease called familial paraplegia. This disease causes people to look at him differently, and laugh at him. He gets lonely at times. He knows that our dad, and everyone on his side of the family, has the same problem, but they live far away. He doesn’t see them, and he doesn’t have any friends with the same problem. There was this time, during the summer, when this man pointed at Chris and laughed at him. I got really upset about it, so I went crazy on the guy. I was thinking how awful it was and I was wondering how ignorant someone could be, to be making fun of a 12-year-old for something he can’t help. No one should have to go through that for any
