Standards Of Practice For Occupational Therapy

The Standards of Practice for Occupational Therapy, are defined as “the requirements for occupational therapists and occupational therapy assistants for the delivery of occupational therapy services” (American Occupational Therapy Association, 1998). There are four standards of practices, Professional Standing and Responsibility, Screening, Evaluation, and Reevaluation, Intervention Process, and Transition, Discharge, and Outcome Measurement. As I transition from COTA to Occupational Therapist, many of my current roles in service delivery will change, as I will be responsible at that time, for all aspects of the services delivery process.
