Standardized Testing Research Paper

There are many forms of assessments used in education to measure the skills of students. For testing to be useful it must meet standards of reliability and validity if used correctly, however it isn’t used correctly because students use test to see if they meet the standard of being “smart” or validity. There shouldn’t be standard testing it creates anxiety for students and can make them feel stressed out over grades at a very young age. For educators, poor student performance may result on a loss of funding and teachers being fired. For students, a bad test scores many mean missing out on admission to the college of their dreams or even being held back. This can create stress even for kids in elementary school there was a study done by psychologist in a school to asses and test anxiety scales to create a baseline, and then introduced 25 minutes of stress intervention once a week for seven weeks. Also, the psychologist showed students and animated video introducing deep breathing and other methods to settle down. After the seven classrooms sessions, only nine out of the 38 fourth graders reported abnormal levels of anxiety”.)
