Just because this way of teaching and grading works doesn't mean it's the best option. School teacher Sarah Myers said “Standardized testing is rough with grading because it forces every kid to learn at the same rate.” (Johnson). There’s not many ways around standardized test every kid in the U.S. has to take them and if you skip these test you will not be successful. Standardized testing isn’t the only problem. It's how the teachers teach, the way schooling is taught is simply passing on information with nothing behind it said by Professor of Education Dennis hayes “In the current climate, the true meaning of education has been lost. In its purest form, education is the simple means of passing knowledge and understanding on to a new generation.” (Hayes). Asia every year is seeing a higher gap in improvement because they are constantly changing and improving the core of education. This doesn’t mean the U.S. isn’t teaching correctly it just shows that the U.S. can improve their core of education.
There is also a problem with different schools and teachers teaching a subject differently or skipping lessons. This can be a problem because if a student switches schools in the middle of the year what they learned from their past school might be ahead or behind his or hers current
