Standard 1: Professional Conduct As professionals, educators must work collaboratively to ensure they are planning effectively to educate students. They must work respectfully in collaboration with all stakeholders. Moreover, they are held accountable for providing support and modeling ethical behavior toward each other. Displaying professional conduct also includes following all policies and procedures as they relate to integrity of test materials and supervision of students.
Standard 2: Trustworthiness The platform for a positive relationship is trust. Educators are expected to operate with integrity at all times and gain the trust of their students and colleagues. Standard 8: Remunerative Conduct Educators should always abide by district policies. School districts have policies that prohibit soliciting of any form including providing services. Additionally, selling items such as pencils, paper, and candy is forbidden as well.
Standard 9: Maintenance of Confidentiality Educators are exposed to a lot of student information. When students enter school, it is a requirement for parents to write personal information on the registration forms along with providing documentations for proof of address. This information is input into the student records, which builds and becomes more comprehensive over the years. Additionally, students’ medical information is included in these records as well. It is vital that educators maintain confidentiality. This standard also refers to state testing. School districts work very hard to ensure safety measures are in place to prevent misuse of testing
