I believe that being an advocate for at-risk youths means providing an alternative path that is healthy for their lives and future. The group Colors United did this effectively by allowing the children to express themselves through different outlets (Ohayon, 1997). I also feel when advocating for at-risk youths it is important to be supportive and understanding of their lives and the issues they are facing at home and within their communities.
