Stand Up For What You Believe In

Someone once said, ¨stand up for what u believe in, even if it means standing alone¨. For me it is very important to stand up for what we believe in, because if we don’t than how would we succeed in life. Standing up is a very powerful thing to do now a days. People don’t usually stand up on what they believe in because they always think it comes easy on them. However, I think standing up for what I believe in is very scary. What I think is that I will have to start doing things my own way. I won’t have to let other people do things for me no more. I will have to start taking things my way and doing them myself. Also, I will have to have conviction in my believes. What I mean is that I should know that I am on the right side of an issue

Most of this generation would hardly stand up for what they believe in. An example being if they see someone in distress, instead of helping out, would document it and post it on some type of social media. This starts the whole situation about “1 like = 1 respect” for whatever situation, or hashtags that wouldn’t help out the person or persons involved. One situation I am willing to stand up for must be racism, or small things that I believe in and make me happy. I haven’t stood up for anyone or joined a movement but if I was offered to I would.…

Similarly to Harrison, a couple of people I know felt they needed to stand up for what they believed in. Many people don’t stand up for what they believe in because of fear. Throughout my boundary project journey, I will be focusing on how I can stand up for myself and express my needs to others without feeling guilty or be afraid of losing love. I want to be able to work on my boundary issue of compliance by using the word, “no” whenever it is needed, rather than always giving in. In my first week of the boundary project, I learned a lot about my child’s fears and how my adult could more effectively talk my child off the ledge, rather than completely pushing the child off through ineffective methods. During this week, I had one moment where I ran into my boundary issue.…

In the article Rough Justice by Alejandro Reyes “No matter how harsh your punishments, you’re not going to get an orderly society unless the culture is in favor of order.” It is important for people to take a stand on issues of justice in society. Three reasons it is important for people to stand on issues of justice in society is that people should stand up to change things that are wrong and turn them right, people represent others who can’t represent themselves, and people should be treated equally. People should stand up to change things that are wrong and turn them right, “We are not subjects, you are not the sovereign either, so long as it is your endevour to control us with justice and love, we will let you do so.”…

Personally, I believe standing up for what you believe in is very important because everyone loves doing something they love. If you want to wear a certain clothes or follow a certain religion, then that's one’s right. Every individual has a choice to choose what they want to do, but that can be changed. A person can be persuaded to do something; however, the decision is entirely that person’s own. If someone tries to tell or force me to stop liking what I love, then I have to stand up for what I believe in.…
