If it’s not one thing, it’s another. Would you ever want to be in some of these situations? Stephen King’s movie “Stand by Me,” is a movie about a group of four twelve year old boys; Gordie Lachance, Chris Chambers, Teddy Duchamp and Vern Tessio who set off on an adventure to locate the body of a dead boy. This film has a reoccurring theme of showdowns. The boys run into numerous breathtaking and sad showdowns that keep on occurring on their quest to find the dead boy.

If Vern had not been looking under the deck for his pennies he had lost, they would not be on their adventure right now. He over hears his brother and his friend’s conversation, secretly discussing the dead body on the porch. Little did they know that Ace and his friends were going also. When the younger group (Chris, Gordie, Teddy and Vern) found the body, no later did Ace and his crowd show up. Vern’s brother sees them and says “Vern you little son of a whore, he was under the porch,” and then bolted after Vern with Teddy following quickly. The two groups trade harsh words before Ace pulls a knife on Chris but is soon too scared to use it after Gordie fires a shot in the air with Chris’s gun. Gordie announces “I will kill you, I swear to god,” pointing his gun right at Ace. This petrifies Ace, which chills him and scares him away along with the rest of his group. This is
