I watched Stand By Me on Friday morning. Stand By Me was directed by Rob Reiner. This movie is about four boys who live in a small town in Oregon. The boys Gordy, Chris, Teddy and Vern are friends. Vern overhears his brother talk about a missing dead body by the train tracks. The boys set up a plan to go looking for the dead body in order to be a hero in town. During the trip, the boys learn about each other’s personal lives. They fight and laugh along the way. They camp in the woods and take turns to be guard at night. Finally, the boys find the dead body next to the river. Before the boys can take action some bullies arrive and announce that they will take credit for finding the dead body. The two groups argue on who found it first. Gordy threatens the bullies with a gun and tells them to leave. However, Gordy decides no one should take credit. The boys call the police to report of the dead body’s location when they get home. In this movie, the director wants the audience to learn the meaning of friendships. It is a lovely and funny movie. The stories are easy to understand, plus the characters make the movie even more interesting. I like when they tease each other. They fight sometimes, but they remain friends. The character of Chris is my favorite. Even though people think he is a bad boy, though in terms of friendship he is a good friend. He always watches out for his friends and never lets them down. Friendship is important for everybody in all ages. It could affect everyone future’s life because the relationship could be a connection relates to work. Somehow, this movie reminds me of my childhood when I spent a lot of time with my friends. I recognized the friendship meant a lot to me. My best friends always were there when I needed

Presented by Queensland Theatre Company and starring Christine Amor, Andrew MacFarlane, Trevor Stuart and Kate Wilson as forgetful Cissy, heart-broken Reggie, flirty Wilfred and lifelong diva Jean. Four members of an opera quartet now in a retirement home for musicians. Quartet utilises tension throughout the whole play from Jean and Reggie not talking to each other to the friction between the whole entire group.…

After reading chapters one through five of On My Own Two Feet by Manisha Thakor and Sharon Kedar I learned an overall basic run down of finances and the importance of managing money. Since they mentioned several topics such as retirement, credit cards, saving accounts and many more. Additionally, in the readings, they mention a story between Tabitha and Tonya, two women with similar incomes but very different saving plans. In the book it states that Tabitha saved $5,000 a year for retirement but Tonya saved $10,000 a year for retirement. However, in the end Tabitha ended up saving more than Tonya for retirement, even though they retired the same time as well.…

It’s a good family movie that everyone can watch. The most annoying character was poppy because she was stubborn and she wouldn’t take no for an answer. For example, Branch warned her not to have the party because she can risk getting everyone caught and that exactly what happened but then she tried to apologize and ask for his help because she knew that he knew a little bit about the bergens. My favorite character is Branch because he was really the one troll who made a big impact in the movie. He was all sad and angry until the end of the movie until he had to step up and give everyone their color back because he didn’t want everyone to give up.…

The song “Lay It All On Me” by Rudimental featuring Ed Sheeran is a deep house song about sticking together and brotherhood. I chose this song because its lyrics exemplify Ma’s character because she is loyal, compassionate, the strength of the family, and the person that the Joad family can go to whenever they need help. Ma Joad also stays calm and controls her emotions for the sake of her family, so they can also stay calm, no matter what they are going through. Even when Connie left Rose of Sharon, and Pa was upset, and thus said bad things about Connie, Ma said “"Rosasharn gonna have a little fella an' that baby is half Connie. It ain't good for a baby to grow up with folks a-sayin' his pa ain't no good.”…

Often at times, there can be confusing items you see that shows on how no to minds are alike to each other in ways. As in the short story, SkyDiving With Friends, written by Mitzi Pulido, is about the author with their group of friends going on an adventure in the sky. I personally feel, that Pulido wrote this story to show that friendship a powerful bond can be even making a person dream of them, because of the fondness in the relationship. Personally, I do not dream of friends, which I can’t really connect to the author, yet I interpret it in a different way than Pulido did. In the story there are three main points, that are shown which are, on how that friends can be more close than family, followed by having adventures with friends can turn out to be good…

    70. Against Me! - Thrash Unreal When Against Me! released Thrash Unreal in 2007, nobody could’ve guessed that Laura Jane Grace, then known as a 26 years-old Tom Gabel, could ever identify so much with the 40-something woman who lives her nightlife as if she just started college. Perhaps, through the age-gap malaise and shame from her mother, the key phrase comes in at the very end of the track,.…

In the History of Love, Leopold Gursky’s self-identity is lost and the cause of his sense of non-existence is due to all of the losses he has encountered in his life and with every loss he becomes less sure of his existence, resulting in his invisibility in the world. Krauss uses the motif of invisibility and self-identity to show how one can become invisible if he/she loses what makes them who they are, causing them to lose sense of themselves and their self-identities altogether, resulting in a sense of invisibility as he/ she is non-existent as they have lost themselves. Krauss uses Leo to display her idea of invisibility and self-identity in the book. Leo’s invisibility and lack of self-identity is caused by the losses in his life consisting of, his love, his family, his writing, and most importantly, his son.…
