Dominic A. Rybolt Mrs. Erin Smith Honors English III 7th November 2014 The Legendary Stan Lee
Stan Lee redefined American Literature and the way written works are viewed as not
only entertainment, but by using one word “Excelsior”! The soul reason Stan Lee is superior to
any writer in history is due to the fact he is born with God given talent to influence the world
through his vivid imagination. Ideas sprocketed out of his mind at a rapid pace that people to this
day believe that he created the entire comic book industry while Jack Kirby merely drew his
ideas. Not only a king of the comic book industry but an icon of the movie industry, Captain

Stan Lee not
only accelerated the comic Book industry to fame across America during a period of constant
war mongering, but he also gave strength to the everyday person. Yet with all of this
international fame, who truly is Stan Lee? In order to find out who he is, we have to dig through

Born from Romanian-Jewish immigrants, Celia and Jack Lieber, on December 28th, 1922

his greatest comic book series that some view as Jack Kirby’s creation also: The Amazing
Spider-Man. Shortly before the twenty-first century, Stan Lee would be welcomed into the Will

into the Jack Kirby Hall of Fame. As a child during the Great Depression, Stan Lee had truly
been able to succeed in the gloom world by creating these images of superheroes that were also
human beings. Who wouldn’t befriend a man that had such a positive impact and vision of
human life even after the childhood he had growing up? One man, Peter Paul, “befriended” Lee
after being a former lawyer he would establish a non-exclusive contract with Marvel Comics.
