The stamp act was made in the year of 1765 by the British on the American colonies. It was said that they straight forward had to pay for every piece of paper printed. This includes newspaper, magazines, and legal documents. The stamp act was sponsored by George Grenville which was the first one to place the first direct tax. The whole reason for the stamp act was because of the French and Indian War which was held in the 1754-1763. "Honestly why do we have to do this,we're just paying extra money for these people" said Mr.Pierce
"I know, everything is getting so expensive now" said Mrs.Pierce Few minutes later...
"Dad in no way is this fair,we have to pay extra for my play cards!!"said Charlie(Mr.Pierce's son).
"I know son,but what are we supposed to do,we can't do nothing"said Mr Pierce.
The family then went on whining about this act.Yes,this family had money but they thought it would be better if they invested money in other things. This would include their kid's education, food, shelter. Everyone was all pretty mad with this new act they had to respect.Not only was it everyone mad but more the poor people which had no money and now had to pay extra for paper supplies.The worst thing was that you had to pay in British money not colonial money which was more than the colonies money.
After not being happy about the government's decision,the colonist were not happy at all with the decision in general.Two of the reasons they were mad was because one,some people would not be able to afford it and secondly,because of their principle "no taxation without representation " which made them even more mad. After all that madness they went further,as they started hurting the British
