Although we were all very relieved that my sister did not have cancer, we were shocked that the doctors had misdiagnosed my sister. This made me even more curious as to how this disease was formed and if the misdiagnoses happen a lot. For years I looked all over, very quietly, just curious about what was going on in the world and why this terrible disease had no cure. Five years later I joined the cheerleading team and we made blankets for Akron Children’s Hospital for the kids on the cancer floor. I was so happy to see all the pictures that came back with the kids and their blankets, all so happy that someone was thinking about them and was hoping they were okay. Then, my sophomore year in high school I had the opportunity to meet the Ferrante Family. The mother Laurie had been diagnosed with cancer three times, the Aunt Vicki had just found out that she had cancer and their grandfather had died of cancer just years before we met. This family changed my life and I will forever be grateful for everything that they taught me throughout the past few
