Staffing is an important aspect that ensures an organization can have a certain kind of people able to work collectively in the effort of meeting vision and mission. According to Sonnenfeld and Piperl (1988), staffing in an organization majorly depends on a strategic choice of the kind of people to be chosen as well as workforce management.
With the information provided by Sonnefeld and Piperl it helps to show that in order to ensure that an organization has the ability to be effective in fulfilling their goals. They must have some type of planned approach for what they need in order for that goal to come to achieve. Managers in an organization should be aware of adopting effective programs and workforce plan that must address some of the issues facing an organization in a short or long-term basis. The organization can assess the qualities and qualifications of its employees to develop effective strategies for increased effectiveness and efficiency in the market. Workforce planning strategies are important in ensuring an organization can meet its objectives and mandate in the market. Changes in the market should be integrated into staffing and if it fails its historical patterns the plans need to focus on more flexibility in the market. According to Sonnefeld and Pieperl (1988), changes often happen in the market or industry for various goods and services an organization is focused on producing.
Change management is difficult is often a difficult task for the management since it lacks understanding over its human resources and flexibility terms. Lack of flexibility in the management of an organization will hinder development and profitability of an organization from meeting efficiency and effectiveness in its operations.
