Staff Pastors

For my research paper, I have chosen to look at a personal situation to research, apply and adapt certain principals in dealing with a highly sensitive matter. The issue is between a staff pastors family and a family in the church. It was brought to the attention of the lead pastor there had been some inappropriate conversations made via texting between a staff pastors wife and a fellow member of the church. The sensitivity of the matter is the fact that there are families involved with the decisions that need to be made and it is important to understand the context of the entire situation. The decisions made affect both families and the trickle down effect can be worrisome if any wrong moves are made. Each decision made also affects the church. Though the people that are aware of the situation are at a minimal, the effect of the decisions made will have an effect on the church and the direction the church continues to move. Regardless of how far the situation has gone there needs to be some amends made to move forward. One must look into the history of the parties involved. Is there a history of infidelity with either of the people involved? Almost in every situation there are underlying issues that cause one to keep the door open for this type action to take place. It is very important that the lead pastor gather all information from the parties involved so the lead pastor can obtain a vantage point that is not obscured or bias. True pastoral counseling is crucial in this situation.
