On Wednesday, November 22, 2017 at approximately 9:15am I, Lieutenant (Angela Garrett) received a telephone called from Officer Jacqueline Boyd who are transporting nine offenders to Little Rock Greyhound Bus Station. Officer Boyd stated to me that Offender Patrice William #708218 told her that she has the wrong medicine and that the medicine belongs to Offender Crenica William #713561 and she received it from the medical department. I instructed Officer Boyd to bring the medicine back to the unit and I will notify the medical department of this incident. On 06/28/2015 at approximately 0650 hours Mainentance Lenord Keenen and Payroll Clerk Erin Keenen observed Correctional Officer Alvin Barnes sleeping in the stationary vehicle posted near Zone one as they entered the gate into Central Arizona Correctional Facilty. According to the written statements made by Lenoard and Erin Keenen they observed Officer Barnes leaning on the door of the vehicle and his head was down. At the staff meetings, specific plans are devised and tailored to help foster progress in clients who are not progressing or progressing to slowly. Such plans reflect the fact that the more clients who pass through the program and eventually move to either independent or supportive living, the more successful is the organization. The Administrator inspires and motivates each client to focus on his/her condition and set goals for where he/she wants to see him/herself in a year. I was always aware of how court rooms worked and how judges listened to defenders and made decisions shortly after, therefore, I had assumed that a board of supervisors meeting worked the same way. Although, when I attended the Prince Edward County Board of Supervisors, it surprised me how they both were. The meeting started out with a Christian prayer from a reverend and then proceeded with the pledge of allegiance. It shocked me because normally everyone always keeps church separate from the courts and I had considered the board of supervisors a court, so I did not expect something that open. According to Boyles (2004), “teachers talk with students to monitor their progress as well as to set goals and help them solve problems” (p.75). Teachers should conduct writing conferences in order to assess and evaluate the writing progress of their students. The purpose of writing conferences is finding the strengths and weaknesses of their writing to improve and develop the skills the student already has. Depending on the students writing the teacher facilitates interventions to improve the students writing skills. Teachers should frequently plan writing conferences to check-in on their students and the progress they have made.…
The final meeting of the year 2016 began with a welcome from Mrs. Cruz who is the Women, Infant and Children (WIC) program project director, and she introduced to the staff a new hire, Thea Parayno. Thea gave a short speech by sharing her experience in the program and thanking several staff who had trained her in certain job duties. Eileen Buckner, peer counselor coordinator, presented to the staff her four peer counselors’ graduates and thanked them for their efforts in helping to increase the breastfeeding rate. Introduction Over the course of a semester I will have the opportunity, to sit in a inclusion classroom. During this time, I will be working with a student, and could observe a teacher and the methods that they use to work with the student. Besides observing the teacher working with the student I will also have the chance to sit in a IEP (Individualize Educational Plan) meeting. On October 15, 2015, I attended the Tyler isd board meeting that was held at the Dr. Jack L. Davidson Conference Center located in the Plyler instructional Complex building. As I entered the meeting, a well-dressed woman greeted me at the door and handed me an agenda of the activities that where going to be held. Teamwork and collaboration, good communication, and confidence are the three strengths I believe I demonstrated during this rotation. My clinical rotation as a student nurse did not only imply observing the providers, but also meant active participation on my part. Being engaged, enabled me to put into practice what I have learned in theory. The first day of my rotation, the nurse permitted me to augment the Pitocin dose by two units after 20 minutes. Throughout the year, as a class we have been given many different challenges in either the form of an essay, speech, or group presentation. The final assignment given to us was a group project presentation. From growing up in an age filled with technology, I have come to love projects that revolve around making some form of a PowerPoint presentation. This PowerPoint though, was both difficult and interesting for the reasons of being assigned group members not of my own choosing, learning to listen to others ideas which can help me to learn something new, and using former knowledge while working together to create a clean, in depth, and well prepared presentation. When I delivered the teaching session, the experience was an overall success with students showing a clear interest and engaging in the lesson (Table 1, question 10, mean 4.3). The teaching began with a clear introduction to the key learning points for the whole session (Table 1, question 5, mean 4.3), which allowed the students to understand what the session was going to entail. This was beneficial to those who needed to see the big picture to see how topics fit together[1]. I further explained that the session will be split into three sections and explained that certain learning outcomes will be covered in each section. I was fortunate enough to attend the 2016 H. W. Sumners Leadership Conference where I would have the opportunity to meet a unique pool of influential individuals. Most of my leadership experiences had come from group projects with students who I were familiar with, and the conference gave me the chance to become a team with strangers from across the United States and Mexico. I was not aware of how much I was actually going to get out of the conference. Through the elective workshops, I learned much more about my leadership style and who I could become as a leader.
