For example, little Suzie gets her kite stuck in a tree and is just too short to reach it. You realize that you are tall enough to get it though. Unfortunately, you are at you great grandma Betty’s birthday. You walk over and help poor little Suzie anyways. YAY! You’re a hero now because you didn't have to do it, you went out of your way to do it. You did more than expected.
For me that hero was my 5th grade teacher, Stacy Soiferman, but for the sake of my sanity I'm going to call her Mrs. Soiferman.

She taught using something i had never seen before, creativity. All of her lessons had some type of performance whether it be art, humor, singing, dancing, acting, and all the rest. She gave up her amazing career to teach 10 year olds. If what she did was not enough, she put in so much effort into learning about us as people. When I interviewed her she recalled at least 20 out of the 27 names that were in our class that year. I'm not going to name names, but just know that she says hi. Things that I couldn't remember, she remembered. All the presents and funny memories. That one time she burst into song or that one time we did a court hearing for the claimed copyright of a made up board game. Anyways, she didn't have to do all of that. That's why she fits my definition. She did not have to remember all the minor details. She could have just gotten us through the year. She could have JUST done her job, but she decided to do more. She became our friends. She does so much for her students. That's why she is one of my favorite
