Very little is known about St. Victoria. I am Daniella Ayala and I chose St. Victoria as my Confirmation name. St. Victoria is the patron saint of Anticoli Corrado, Italy. St. Victoria’s date of birth and what country she was born in couldn’t be found, but she lived in Picenum, Italy, so to my conclusion she probably was born in Italy. She was a noble woman with her sister Anatolia, which is also a saint. Victoria and her sister were supposed to marry a noble pagans, but her sister convinced her to dedicate both their lives to God and remain single. That is exactly what Victoria did. Pagan suitors began to make deals with local authority to be allowed to imprison both sisters to see who would give up on their faith. Both sisters reacted by selling everything they owned and they gave the poor the money the two sisters earned and continued to love God. When the two sisters were imprisoned, they converted guards, maids, and servants. …show more content…
Anatolia was locked in a room with a venomous snake, but the snake didn’t hurt Anatolia. When Anatolia’s suitor heard this, he decided to kill her himself. When Victoria’s suitor found out what happened he spent years trying to convince Victoria to change her faith, but Victoria wouldn’t give up. Victoria’s suitor did everything he could like acts of kindness to horrible treatments. One day he got mad and stabbed Victoria in a fit of anger. It is said that Victoria’s killer was hit with leprosy six days later and was eaten by worms. St. Victoria is one of the few that her murderer was killed right after she was. Her feast day is December

Perpetua’s tale of martyrdom for Christianity, while seemingly heroic, is no more than the death of a woman embellished for the sake of Christianity and women’s roles as martyrs in the third century. There is reason to believe that Perpetua’s story was falsified and embellished, most likely by a man, to be used as a tool for Christianity and recruit more women followers and martyrs and have them look up to Perpetua as an example of a noble woman and martyr. There are very few stories in history of women martyrs that have not been changed and embellished for the sake of Christianity, and this text is no different. I will prove that this text was edited at a later date. I will do this by showing there are plot holes from her time in prison,…
