The main reason I attended St. Thomas University my freshman year was due to the fact that it was a free education. I can't afford college unless I earn scholarships to pay my way through school. My family doesn't have the money to send me off to out of state or private schools so I worked hard to earn the money on my own. My passion for marine biology and medical studies have pushed me to take the hardest classes offered and expose myself to a variety of research opportunities. I am at the top of my class at St. Thomas University and I easily got there. The coursework and classes they offer are way below my capabilities and I struggle to keep interested and engrossed during class due to the lack of difficulty. I am bored, have a ridiculous amount of free time, and catch myself getting far ahead of the lessons currently being taught. I love learning new things but nothing new is being taught. All the coursework, lessons, and classes are subject matter that I had already learned my early years of high school and I feel like I am being held back and as if I am going
