St. Patrick's Day and Valentine’s Day

Valentine’s Day started in the Roman Empire around 270 AD under the ruling of Claudius the second. The famous color of this holiday is red and the symbol is a heart because us humans believe that the feeling of love comes from the heart. It is believed that St. Valentine died on February 14. This is the day we celebrate Valentine’s Day. St. Patrick’s Day is celebrated on March 17 which is the that St. Patrick was put to death. St Patrick’s name did not youst to be Patrick, it was Maewyn Succat but he changed it to Patrick. At the age of 16 he was put into slavery, but at 22 he escaped it. On March 17 we eat corned beef and cabbage to celebrate. In Chicago they paint the Chicago River green.
