St. Maximilian Kolbe: Martyr

St. Maximilian Kolbe was born on January 8th, 1894 in Poland. He was born as Raymund Kolbe, into a very poor family, but was given the religious name Maximilian in 1910. He was a Polish Conventual Franciscan friar and a martyr in the German death Camp of Auschwitz during World War 2. He was a very active advocate for the Immaculate Virgin Mary and is often referred to as the Apostle of Consecration to Mary. His goal was to convert enemies and sinners against the church, especially the Freemasons, he would do this through the intercession of Mary.
A lot of his life was strongly shaped by a vision he had when he was 12, of the Virgin Mary. He became an ordained priest in 1918 after studying in Rome, he came home he used printing the Good News
