The saint I find most adorable is Saint Maria Goretti. Saint Maria was born on October 16, 1890. She was a young adolescent when he father, Luigi Goretti had passed away. Maria was faced with a very overwhelming and tough position to fill. She had to help her mother take care of the house hold and act as another parent figure. She learned that she need to grow up fast and take on these responsibilities and help her family. The story of Saint Maria Goretti is she was in the house one day preforming her duties like always. A man by the name of Alessandro always though the Maria was beautiful. He told one of the men he was with that he forgot something at home and went back. When he got back he tried to rape Maria but she would not commit the sin of sex out of marriage. Alessandro did not like the fact the Maria did not want to take place in this sexual act with him and started to stab her vigorously. He stabbed her to the point she thought that she was dead. That was not the case Alessandro’s father found Maria and took her to the hospital where she soon grew worse and ended up passing away on July 6, 1902. In your religion book, is proclaims that “Solidarity is the virtue of social charity, friendship and responsible sharing whereby the interdependence among all people is recognized” (CCC 56). This means that we are always going to be brother and sister and we need to treat each other. Personally I adore the fact that Saint Maria never got angry or held a grudge against Alessandro. She thought that if he just treated him like she would want to be treated that in the end the answer to all the question she ever had would eventually be answered by God. In her life time I believe that Maria looked out for the wellbeing of other and helped to secure everyone faith and friendship.
