St. Louis is located at the confluence of two of the world’s great rivers, the Mississippi and the Missouri rivers. St. Louis, Missouri, has a long history and diverse culture and is the largest metropolitan area in the United States. The place where the Gateway Arch is located, home to well-known sports teams like the St. Louis Cardinals and St. Louis Blues. St. Louis's long-lasting history begins when it was first founded in 1764 by French fur traders Pierre Laclede and Auguste Chouteau. Since then, St. Louis has grown into a major city in the United States.

St. Louis is a place where people from different backgrounds live together. Every day, you encounter new and different people from all over the world. While there may be days when some individuals prefer to judge others on their status, race, gender, or various categories, most of the time in St. Louis, it is not likely for you to encounter questions like “What is your job?” “Did you graduate from college?” or “What is your title at your company?” or any other questions that could sound threatening to the other. While St. Louis may present itself as a friendly and non-judgmental city, if we had to choose between individualism and collectivism, St. Louis leans towards individualism. In an individualist culture, people are self-oriented; they only take care of themselves, make decisions based on individual needs, and have an “I” mentality.
