St. John Chrysostom was known for his ability of articulating the church’s teaching and being the archbishop of constantinople.Although being a great preacher and church leader, his title and authority soon became his worst enemy which lead to his exile and soon after death. Chrysostom was born in Antioch to a father who was a military officer yet was raised by his mother.When Chrysostom grew up he began to study law yet decided it was not his passion and persuaded theology instead. John used his newfound knowledge to become a hermetic monk, however, due to his poor health living alone, he moved back to municipal life. After his return, Chrysostom was ordained and began preaching which lead to him having a sizeable fan base and influence.
