St. Jerome was born at Stido, Dalmatia in 340 AD he learned alot from his dad, a Roman Catholic but was sent to Rome by his father. There he studied many things and became fluent in Latin and Greek. Learning those languages helped him in becoming very valuable to the Popes of that time. St. Jerome was best known for translating the Old Testament from Hebrew to Latin called the Vulgate. St. Jerome is often associated with symbols like a lion, Cardinal attire and books and writing material. He`s the Patron Saint of Librarians, school children and translators. Jerome died on September 30, 420 AD and was Canonized a Saint shortly after that, there is no specific date of the Canonization. St. Jeromes feast day is September 30.

Some thing’s I found really interesting are that St. Jerome seemed like a very normal man. He had a great love for God but also at times had bad thoughts in his head and many temptations but he never attempted to sin. He

Jerome was that even though he was very holy and loved God very much, he had strong words for people that spoke up against God. St. Jerome defended God very strongly by being harsh to anyone who spoke against Him. St. Jerome was honest with his words and did not care if he insulted anyone. He made enemies by speaking his mind about people that did not live a Christian lifestyle. I also admired his faith and strength when it came to asking God for his guidance trying to stay away from his temptations that he was faced with.
There are several things that I know I can do to be more like St. Jerome. I could spend some of my life trying to serve Jesus by praying more, going to mass and reading the Bible. I could learn to speak my mind more and stand up for myself and my faith just like St. Jerome did. I could also try to convince nonbelievers to put their faith, trust and love in God. Even though St. Jerome is not my favorite Saint, I have a lot of respect for him and the way he lived his
