Springfield Middle School Crisis Management Plan

There are various different Crisis Management Plans in place at Springfield Middle School. The first plan is in the event of a fire. Each classroom has a designated stairwell and exit to use if they need to evacuate the school. The teachers are to bring a class roster with them and make sure all students are present once they find their designated spot outside the building. The attendance clerk is responsible for bring the student enrollment forms outside of the building. There is also a copy of these forms at Central Office in case the binders cannot be retrieved. In the event that the students are unable to return to the school, each teacher is to walk the entire class a couple of blocks to the Springfield Community Center. Once at the center, the grade level leader is to collect roll from each teacher and submit it to the administrator present. From there a School Reach call will go home to the parents and guardians with procedures for picking up their child. Parent and guardians will be required to sign their scholar out from a school official. If the building is declared all clear by the Springfield Fire Department, the teachers and students can reenter the building and resume class. An administrator will come outside to allow the faculty and students back in the building. …show more content…
The sixth grade is in the basement of the school and can remain in their classroom. The seventh grade can remain on their floor and move into the hallway, away from the windows. The eighth grade moves all the way down to the basement and occupies the sixth grade hallway. Administrators and office officials are to monitor the hallways with help and support from the teachers. They also monitor the weather and wait for an all clear signal from the Central Office
