This major part led the East and the West to separate. The U.S wanted the other citizens to have what they had, which was a democratic government. They viewed communism as a form almost as a slave like state. Where the government controlled everything and the people had no rights. The U.S sought to stop the spread of communism by the Soviets, by providing support to the noncommunist countries. This, however, just led the Soviets to become more hostile toward the West.

This was because the British, Americans, and Germans were allying their zones for economic gain.
