Christianity began and was founded in Palestine, near the Mediterranean Sea. Jesus is known as being and founding Christianity. Other important figures included Paul, who with other ministers spread Christianity far and wide in the scope of land around the Mediterranean Sea. Also, some notable people from Christendom at some point in time or today are the Pope (there were many before the current, Francis), Martin Luther, John Wycliffe, Mother Teresa, and many more. Followers in the early days were told to spread the message, and as it became popular with everyone, it moved when humans moved. At first, Christians were greatly persecuted. But when Constantine converted, Christianity was more tolerated and eventually became the official religion of the Empire. As the Roman Empire was comprised of lots of land, the ideals of Christianity reached many people and as they changed, their religious beliefs followed and changed with them.
