The term “Christianity” started by people who despised Jesus followers, the Greeks and Romans. They viewed the religion as a religion for slaves and poor people. The term “Christian” derives from the word “Christ” which in Greek means the “anointed one”, therefore “Christians” mean “the way of the followers of Christ”. Christianity started approximately in the year 30 AD in Judea (present day Israel) with Jesus Christ and his faithful groups of disciples. Christianity became established in all parts of the Roman Empire and in the Middle East during the first two centuries.
