Spouse Interview The following section will serve as an encouragement testimony from my spouse in my life. Just as my seminary experience is a tremendous encouragement to her, we hope that this seminar experience serves as an inspiration to our lives and an answer to our prayers.
Seminary Experience Viviana’s, conversion experience took place after we got married. She grew up in a big family with eight siblings, and with her mom as the only Christian in the house. She didn’t know about any faith in Jesus Christ, and the necessity of asking God for salvation. The People and the Situation As was first mentioned in my ministry group project proposal, the group I chose was my own small group. When the project first started, it consisted of roughly 10 men and women, most members of my Southern Baptist church who meet weekly to suss through the week’s sermon together. Interestingly enough, most of us had been raised in some semblance of a Christian home, though our experience within that “Christian” community varied.…

The interview I completed was with Cindy Dikmen, who is an emergency room registered nurse and a certified sexual assault nurse examiner at a local hospital. In order to be a certified sexual assault nurse examiner, a registered nurse must complete 40 hours of certification training. In addition to the training, shadowing experienced sexual assault examiner, is also recommended in order to build skills. Training also teaches how to interview victims in order to record an accurate statement. The physical examination focuses on areas where the person was assaulted.…

A Baptism in Late Antiquity This letter tells of a decently educated young woman and her conversion to Christianity. Written records of baptism in the Late Antiquity era can vary greatly, especially before the First Council of Nicaea and Constantine’s standardization of the religion. Due to its position and the fact that there was likely only one house church in Dura Europos, the baptismal rituals situated there could differ greatly from the recorded rituals of ancient Rome; even in the same cities the church doctrine of various houses would often contrast (Filson 3).…

Rosaria’s conversion cannot be described using the usual language; it was more like an alien abduction or train wreck; yet, it happened slowly as she lived her life ever day. From her experiences as a Lesbian, social activists, and professor, Christians seemed shallow in their thinking and dependent on general easy answers. Christianity also scared her. Like the Scriptures say, life without Christ is hard and purposeless and Christianity threatened the meaning of her life. The Christians that entered her life, a pastor and his wife, did so without being harsh, threatening, or in her face, but simple kind, friendly, and intellectually challenging.…

Calvary Commission, the seminary that I stayed at, is located a few miles out of town on a land that seems to never end. I could walk miles and still find myself to be on Calvary Commission’s property. The first day I was there, my group and I went on a little hike up to the prayer chapel, which sat on the top of a hill, surrounded by trees, and a bonfire pit stood a few feet away. This was my group’s first real exposure to how great the people at Calvary Commission are.…

During this question Pastor Jacque began by telling me about her background and early life. She informed me that she was born and raised in Santiago California, to parents that she described as people who didn’t have everything put together.…
