SPORT AND THE DEMISE OF AMERICAN DREAM Sports have been a big part of achieving the American dream because its has the power to be widely accessible to a lot of people. You can go to the YMCA and there are many teams you can join from youth all the way through college to train hard and work towards achieving the American dream. There are many examples of this throughout the years. One example, of this, is a man called Freddy Gomez. After his fourth year at Guilford, he achieved the American dreams of playing soccer with determination, the support of his family, and his teammates (Wilson, 2012).
