In my early years of high school, I considered going to Pharmacy school at the University of Kansas, which although expensive, would be more reasonable for myself as a Kansas resident. When I took Chemistry my sophomore year, I quickly came to realize that a profession which will require chemistry daily is not a profession fit for me. Contrarily, I became more involved with the Beaver Broadcasting Network (BBN), and Mr. Holt gave me opportunities to explore the world of Sports Media, resulting in my passion growing. Eventually becoming the main sports anchor for the BBN, I quickly became more comfortable on the sidelines and interviewing athletes. At that point, I knew that loving the atmosphere of athletics combined with discussing the competition on camera was a perfect fit for a potential occupation following my receiving of a bachelor’s degree. In response to my desire to have a four-year university experience, trade schools and schools specialized in media became disregarded. Although many will disagree with my decision, due the ability to enter the work field much quicker with a trade school degree, I have confidently chosen the best option for myself.
