The average salary for a sports newscaster is $41,800.This is for a radio and television announcer (Learn.org.). Sports news broadcasters are responsible for writing sports coverage and interviewing athletes on the radio and television. They need to have a knowledge about all sports and be able to talk in front of people. This is a very competitive field (Gresham). You need to have a bachelor degree with education in journalism,broadcasting,mass communication (Learn.org.). There is a lot of games at home in the season so they don't have to travel that much. Hometown announcers travel with the team. They announce the players and each of the team games during their season(Sports Announcer Career
