1. Yes I do believe that sporting events contribute to unifying a nation. When it comes to sport there is no right side to support or wrong side to support. Everyone is equal and everyone strives for the same goal-to win! Sport is a universal language. It has the potential to bring people together, no matter what their origin, background, religious beliefs or economic status and in doing so it also establishes a shared bond between people, helping to unify those from diverse backgrounds and break down the barriers of prejudice and inequality within nations.

Doping in sport
Question 2
1. Not at all, all athletes are aware that taking performance-enhancing drugs is illegal and morally incorrect. There is an obligation when competing at high level events that each athlete when asked by officials, is required to take a drug test for no reason other then fair play. All athletes deserve a right to compete equally and fairly and taking these performance-enhancing drugs completely goes against what the morality of sport stands for. Athletes gain an unfair advantage over others because they wish to stand out as their country’s hero.
2. Yes, drug testing is completely justifiable at a school level because the same principle applies – fair play. All students deserve the right to compete at a school level against opponents of equal opportunity. Why does one team get the advantage over another team, unfairly? No matter what level in sport, doping is a moral issue. I believe that schools should be obliged to test for doping as young athletes might be steered by their egos and not understand the potential future health risks associated with doping. 3. No, I don’t believe there are any circumstances under which doping could be justifiable. Doping is clearly and simply an unfair advantage, no matter what way it’s done or to what extent it benefits the athlete the fact is it goes against what sport stands
