“And now, a brief public service announcement. Alligators: can they kill your children? Yes.”
I laughed, the kind only this show can get out of me. It was somewhere between a snort and a slightly heavier than usual nose exhale.
I rolled over in bed, glancing out the window as I did. I couldn’t see much, which was to be expected, as it was one thirty in the morning. My insomnia was bullying me since I didn’t have my melatonin pills.
In an attempt to help myself sleep, or at least make not sleeping interesting, I had put on my favorite podcast, Welcome to Night Vale. It’s a quirky show, taking the form of the community radio of a spooky desert town.
Normally, I wouldn’t put something I enjoy on to make me fall asleep, but the voice of Night
