Pashto/Dari team meeting with Shayan and Amr regarding Spogmay maternity leave which June 20, 2016
Shayan stressed that the team should perform the daily assigned tasks to convince the customer that we are willing and capable of dong every task without interruption. He added that the three of us would work overtime for the duration of Spogmay leave; everyone will be paid 10 hours overtime. Amr also mentioned that we will be paid overtime if the customer approves it. Since both Jawaid and Wali have small children to take care of, I proposed that we should work the extra hours from home; every one will follow the regular work hours and do the extra two hours from home. I know it is possible because not all the works need to be done in the office. But Shayan said that we should either come two hours early or stay two hours late in the office. He even mentioned that we do not have monitoring capability to make sure if those working from are actually working at home. That statement from was not well received by Wali and Jawaid and I didn't like it either. First of all, a manager should should, or at least pretend that he or she is trusting his or subordinate. I think it was impolite of Shayan to give both Wali and Jawaid that they were not trusted. But, he has his own reasons for not trusting them; both are not as dedicated to their

Jawaid and Wali came to my office and we talked about what and how to do it. Seemingly both had liked the idea of working the overtime work at home and insisted that, since they have kids, they cannot come early or stay late and asked me to inform Shayan of their decision. Another issue they were pissed about was the favoritism Shayan is bestowing on Spogmay: he allows her to work from home two or days a week but not giving Jawaid and Wali the same privilege to work from

The first think I need to evaluate is the terms of the contract between my team and the management. Based on the nature of this contract, it may be the case that negotiating with the management and persuading my team are not mutually exclusive options. employees have to give up their work-from-home status. Hawes stated that Mayer’s policy was short sighted and non-motivational to her employees. But it should be only, like Hawes said, done in a period of a time frame.…

The 2016 election is no doubt one that will go down in history. Although the two candidates had differing opinions about almost everything, there was one issue they both agreed on: paid maternity leave. This election was the first time in history both parties pushed for paid maternity leave, but as always, they disagreed on the logistics. Donald Trump believes women deserve 6 weeks of paid maternity leave after childbirth, and plans to pay for it through unemployment insurance. In contrast, Hillary Clinton believes no matter how the child is received (i.e. childbirth, surrogate, or adoption), both men and women deserve paid maternity leave (Sholar).…
