Split ends are when the ends of a person’s hair split due to dryness or ill treatment. The diagnosis or scientific word for split ends is trichoptilosis. Split ends are caused by a number of reasons from brushing it too much, the hair being exposed to heat, coloring your hair, the hair accessories you put on your hair, or it could be caused by genetics which would make it somewhat unstoppable. When searching for signs you should be looking for the hair being tangled, frequent frizzing, strands of hair falling out when brushed, and patches of hair that are rough and dry. To prevent split ends from happening you have to trim your hair every 6-10 weeks, use conditioner, and try to avoid anything that causes split ends (heat,
