Many people have this assumption that you can’t have spirituality without religion and vice versa. But with the recent studies claiming that Australians are spiritual but aren’t committed to a certain religion. Do we need to rethink that assumption?

Spirituality can embrace transcendental ideas for the individuals that believe in existence beyond this physical level whilst embraces humanistic ideas of morality like patience, forgiveness and harmony without believing in an existence after death.
Gene Kent, a committed Anglican was able to define spirituality whilst managing to capture the essential idea of spirituality, stating “It is your decision to follow a religious life, spirituality picks you” .
