In 1 Peter 2:2 it says that “Like newborn infants, desire the pure spiritual milk, so that you may grow by it for your salvation” This means that once a someone gets saved they are like baby in Christ, because they do not understand all there is out there that is part of the believers world. For example, anytime you have a 15 or 16 year old they are going to be eager to get their license. They realize that once they get their license that they will be able to drive around by themselves on dates or to school, and can branch out and do their own thing. That teenager will focus and stay tuned into everything that has to do with driving just so they can learn and grow in that area, and eventually get their driver’s license. That is exactly how Christians ought to be with their spiritual maturity. They ought to have that desire and focus about the things of God, but many Christians like being a spiritual baby. They like not having a responsibility, such as if they want to stay home one Sunday they can because they are not tuned into the things of the Church, but staying a baby is not what God wants and not what Christians should strive for. Instead Christians should want to grow up and become productive and useful, and serve the Lord daily. Like it says in Colossians 1:10, “So that you may walk worthy of the Lord, fully pleasing to Him, bearing fruit in every good work and growing in the knowledge of
